congratulations my love

I received a great news from home few days ago . It's my bestest friend ever, who has managed to endure all the disastrous years of med school, now proudly has attained the title in front of her name. We have been through a lot, I can't begin to describe every precious moment we had together. As gay as this might sound; here's to the craziest, most genius, very (I mean VERY) interesting family members, the one who sticks with me the most in hardness, the one who elaborate my happiness, the companion, the planet's funniest creature (creature heh heh), my punching bag & my shoulder to cry on~

Dr Sharifah Sarah Syed Mohd Alwi, M.D (UKM)

As per evident, she blended in the poster very well. I told ya she's fun. Ha ha how I miss her very very much..

some gallows humour

I always love British comedies, very entertaining and intelligent sometimes, though most of the times cursing seems mandatory in every line spoken, and you have to have a high level of sarcasm to blend in with the jokes. Very amusing and satisfying for me nevertheless, especially when I just feel like escaping from the norms.

Two of the most notorious Brit comedies for me would be the Catherine Tate Show and Little Britain. In these two they basically do a lot of sketches by only one multitalented comedian. So in one sketch Catherine Tate is Lauren Cooper, an ill-mannered high-school girl with her famous "am i bovverred?" remark and in the other she's Nan, a very typical grumpy old British grandma. I admit most of the sketches are satirical and intended to scorn individuals or companies, but hey you're talking about the West where liberty of speech always rules. If I have to warn you it would be don't watch it if you can't tolerate South Park-like crude jokes. OK they might be a little more intelligent than South Park sometimes. Don't bother watching it at all if you have stuff to do coz it'll get into your nerves believe me, but if you still have a lot of stuff to do but at the same time don't mind something light for your clouded minds (like yours truely), this one's for you.

I put here one of my favourite sketches. This one is specially shot for the Comic Relief- the Red Nose Day where basically a lot of Brit's top comedians act with famous celebs to raise money that will go to Ethiopian's famine crisis. Oh cut the story and enjoy Mr Blond Bond~

My chosen best part (other than when Daniel Craig said "I love you Elaine" and looked like someone really stupidly in love) is

"...the rest, as they say..is biology..or history."

He he. Simply brillianntt! ! (thick Brit accent)

my random Izzy moments

OK it's not Izzy Stevens, it's my friend Izura from high school. This girl never failed to amuse me with her coolness and sempoi-ness back in school. If you're the otai type and you were asked by the head warden amongst all the prefects who do you wanna vote for the next Ketua Pengawas, Iyzee would be the one for sure. She has the charms for both the badass and the goodies believe me. But of course the badass voices weren't loud enough and Iyzee kept her coolness by being the next best thing - pengawas disiplin.

I wasn't really closed to her initially, up till the great era of prefects dorm - Garuda. She's a great friend and we did share quite few memorable moments that got me smiling broadly sometimes when thinking about. I remember in Garuda we were the orang belakang - the ones with the lockers at the back of the long dorm, included in the group were Asmalita, Nadia Ain, Wawee, Iza, Anem and few more. Sometimes in the morning when all of us populated in front of the big mirror at the back doing our tudung, vests and ties, Iyzee would start suggesting we do some light warm up exercise just to stretch the lazy muscles. So we did in our complete penyu head-tie-vest-long skirt prefect uniforms, stretching from head to toes, then finished up our 'exercise' by having nasik lemak in the dining hall. He he. On Friday evenings when my brother picked up my dirty laundry (I know I was really spoilt back then, I didn't do my laundry for some reasons), he never failed to leave some food at the guard house for me, the favourite one being ayam golek. So usually on Friday nights the lot of us would sit down together at the back and enjoy the whole ayam with great laughs and a backgroud music from HitzFM. Oh those were the days..

In form 2 (or form 3) when the school decided to be more academic and announced the new benchmarking of the school would be chess and debate; after years and years of basketball and school band; each batch had to send few representatives for a 5 minutes spontaneous speech. Iyzee and few other girls took the challenge for our batch. I vaguely could remember what was the topic she drew out of the box, it was something like "Wawasan 2020" or "Rukun Negara". But the funny thing was, just across the stage at the end of the hall there was a big wooden board on the wall with everything she needed to talk on painted on it. We were laughing all along, and being Iyzee, she nailed every single words on the wall confidently, as if those words came straight from her head.

So yesterday after the paeds exam finished, I opened the mails and quickly updated myself on the news and on friendster. I read Iyzee's blog and stumbled upon this entry. Once again she got me laughing so hard, with my bad headaches I suffered at that time from the long hours of studying and exam. I can't remember when was the last time I laughed on my own like that, thanks to Iyzee I now have a new record. I think I miss my school days, though in overall the rules suck big time but friendship was the best thing. So I dedicate this entry to Iyzee, my cool friend who's flying high in Sabah. If you're reading this, wait for me in a year or two, I'll go there for the fun of water rafting with you!

p/s: oh headaches please go away, oh photophobia you're really turning me into a batman..

A Spoonful of Irish

"An rud is annamh is iontach.."

translated: What is strange is wonderful

I got this from the backpacket of the white sugar for my coffe. Oh that's the Irish language if you don't know. It is the native language that's extincting in Ireland, but fortunately some great initiatives have been taken to prevent that to happen, like the all-Irish channel on the national TV - TG4, where you can watch Spongebob Squarepants in Irish language and go mental laughing about the things you can't understand. I was on my way back from Kilkenny when I overheard these 2 young ladies behind me were speaking in pure Irish. Part of me felt a bit proud knowing that somewhere (far far away) in this very cold country there's people still using the language in their daily lives and the other part was just happily saying- "wow, it's like watching TG4!!"

Back to the topic, I totally agree with the quotation. For me normality is wearisome. And peculiarity is astonishing. But not purely on either way though. Have a bit of both in the correct way, that'll do. And polish to glow your peculiarity, then you won't be just another plain jane (or jack).

Today is my last day of the formal education I received as a medical student for the past 5 years. Future intensive classes will only be for the revision purposes for the final exam. 5 years really fly, now it's nearly finished. It is true that nothing is everlasting, other than the only God above. It surely goes with the saying - Live life like you're gonna die, coz you're gonna..

I'll leave you guys with this song to blend in with the mood.

or here

All that money that you got gonna be gone
That gear that you rock gonna be gone
The house up on the hill gonna be gone
The gold purse on your grill gonna be gone
The ice on your wrist gonna be gone
That nice little Miss gonna be gone
That whip that you roll gonna be gone
And what's worst is your soul's already gone

Exam's on Friday, send me some prayers will ya?

just another bizarre metaphor

Sometimes in life you just wanna be like C. Ronaldo in Man U vs Europe XI. Your youthfulness shown as you boast the audience with your spectacular skills. As bold as you are, you fumble and bore people with your juvenile tricks sometimes, but wrap it all nicely with your golden free kick that sent D. Beckham's into history.

Ha ha (bad one I know)

Let's live life at its young & ferocious state.

Ferocious studying on its way.. (yer rite..)

A good cup of coffee is worth..

..being late to the morning class and make a grand entrance in front of everyone.

How much would you willing to do for a lil comforts added in life?
I know exactly how much I would..

(Have a great day y'all!)
